Claudia Richey is a Certified Personal Trainer and Ayurvedic Practitioner, she founded DoshaFit®, merging both disciplines into a comprehensive system that address the person as a one whole organism. With more then 18 years of experience she has created the “Breaking Free Program” which deals with the struggles and battles around weight loss and all the conflicting information that hits our market every day. She has also authored “Train Right For Your Type”, teaching Fitness professionals, Yoga instructors and Health Coaches to implement Ayurveda in their practice to give their clients a more personalized experience with better results.
DoshaFit® has been in the making for some years. I am a personal trainer and Ayurvedic practitioner. I have seen a big divide between both modalities, Ayurvedic colleagues being not quite literate in the fitness arena to help their clients with exercises to improve their lifestyle.
Fitness trainers being completely illiterate in the concept of a multi-dimensional approach that considers not only dietary habits, exercise, illness and injuries, but also the fact that we all are different on a body-mind level and need more personalized attention.
I have seen clients who have been trained to a point of complete burn out, going from one bootcamp to the next to lose weight. We need to consider the clients constitution, but also time of day and other factors in effective training.
There is not one right way of training for two people, what works for one client may get the next injured, and yet another person may overtrain and not get any result at all.
It’s time to wake up and look at a better method to get better results.
When I created DoshaFit® I wanted to offer my own clients a better way of working with them, educate them to be more in tune with their bodies. Train and “feed” them according to their Dosha, give them a ‘whole’ and complete experience. What I learned on the way is that DoshaFit® is so much more, even getting into exercise psychology, helping clients break through barriers by not only giving them the tools and knowledge so they can take responsibility, but also by approaching them and motivating them in a way that works for this specific person.
Seeing incredible results in my own clients the vision of the DoshaFit® certification program was born. The mission is to educate fitness professionals, Yoga instructors and holistic coaches on how to create a completely personalized experience for their clients. Give these professionals the tools they need to get through to their clients, break through barriers and help them achieve lasting success. Which ultimately means far better client retention for the professional.
